Program overview
The Nature Journaling program has been designed to enable students to investigate the environment around them through art. The incursion program introduces students to nature journaling. By recording their observations in their nature journals, students will express themselves visually while developing their connection with and contribution to the world. They will be recording shapes, colours, textures, objects, plants etc in their environment.
Students will participate in 'Dadirri', an Indigenous mindfulness activity to slow them down and work on their attentiveness. This will also help the students relax and focus, fostering their wellbeing. They will then be guided through activities and encouraged to find something in their space to draw and record, representing their ideas. At the end, students will be given an opportunity to share their work with the group.
This incursion can be tailored to your curriculum area of focus in the following KLAs:

* Please note: this incursion can also take place in a public space close to your school grounds. This can be considered in negotiation with the Bunyaville Environmental Education teacher at your Pre-visit.
